Martha Chapa Benavides is a renowned Mexican painter, sculptor and writer originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon and one of the most outstanding artist of contemporary art of Mexico. She has received significant awards and recognitions in Mexico as well as internationally. Her work is characterized by incorporating an apple as part of her central theme in her works. Her artistic trajectory includes more than 250 individual exhibitions and more than 1800 collective exhibitions across Mexico and internationally throughout Europe, the United States and Latin America. Chapa has managed to combine her interests in food and art, and to date he has published more than 30 books. She participates in gastronomic festivals and conducts the television program El sabor del saber, which focuses on art, culture and gastronomy. She also writes on political, cultural and gastronomic topics in various media outlets. She is currently celebrating 70 years of life and her 50th anniversary of being a visual artist.
